Golden milk is an amazing recipe with unlimited health benefits. It is a turmeric based milk which is rich in Curcumin, it has hundreds of benefits including anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. This wonderful and easy, to made at home, drink is very effective as a natural treatment for many diseases as well as beneficial for your overall health.

Turmeric is one of the most important and commonly available spice with many health benefits, it helps in strengthening the immune system, detox the liver, normalize and regulate the blood pressure, improves brain and memory function, enhance digestive systems, lowers the cholesterol, balance the metabolism and regulate weight etc.

The flaw with turmeric is its low bioavailability, but don’t worry there is a solution to it, you need to combine it with black pepper in order to make is fully effective. Its bioavailability is increased by 2000% when it is combined with black pepper. Below is the method for preparation:


  1. ¼ of a cup of powdered turmeric
  2. ½ a teaspoon of crushed pepper
  3. ½ a cup of filtered water
  4. 1 cup of almond milk
  5. 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  6. 1 tablespoon of honey


 Step 1 – turmeric paste

Mix the ingredients 1, 2 & 3 and cook them on medium heat, stir all the time in order to get the smooth mixture but do not let the mixture stick with pot. Once you feel it’s cooked and the mixture is pretty even, let the paste cool down and store in a refrigerator afterwards.

Step 2 – golden milk

Put the ingredients 4 & 5 along with ¼ of a teaspoon of turmeric paste (obtained from step 1) in a pot and cook on medium heat. Keep stirring until you get an evenly smooth mixture, at this point pour the content in another bowl and add 1 tablespoon of honey for a pleasant taste. Your drink is ready and you can enjoy it.
